About This Program
The Robotics for Kids Level 500 Program is focused on “Advanced Functions & Robotic Builds coupled with Coding IV which involves more depth using Python Coding. This is bridge level course which involves some Level 600 activities within groups. Students learn advanced coding on navigation functions, fine tuning sensors, autonomous motion, and using AI (Artificial Intelligence) to generate text-based micro-Python programming. Kids learn Python coding that includes encapsulated scripts, fixing errors, comments, multiple data types & integers, assigning variables (strings, integers), manipulating variables, conditional variables, data types (swapping and converting), if/else statements, loops and so much more.
Students have an opportunity to discover more about autonomous vehicles, real-world robotic challenges, as well as, entering into Robotic Competitions (FLL, WRO, Zone01) and completing specific challenges. Building, Coding and Testing are focused skills in this course.
What is the class structure?
Your child is assigned their own laptop, no need to bring one but you can choose to. And they work at their own pace designing, building & coding through guided instruction, sometimes completing challenges independently and at other times collaboratively within small groups. Classes are 90 minutes and include:
-
- 20 Min. – Robotics & Coding Program Challenge Lesson (STEM-Based)
- 40 Min. – Robotic Building
- 20 Min. – Coding Build
- 10 – 15 Min. – Challenge Completion / Testing
All students build different robotics that serve to focus on completing a different challenge at every class.
Class Length: 1.5 Hrs. (90 Minutes)
Course Completion: 30 to 40 Weeks.
